“Trina and I first met in an Accounting class at Southern Utah University. I remember sitting in the back row leaning back in my chair and goofing off with my buddies while trying to grasp the concept of adjusted gross incomes and accumulated depreciation. Trina was sitting in the front row and she caught my eye immediately. She was super cute, quiet and somehow knew the answers to all of the teacher’s questions. After realizing that the only person in the class who was beating me on all of the tests was this pretty girl sitting in the front row I became super intrigued. I would see her in the hallways of the business building and I would try to seduce her with as much charm as I could muster. It seemed to work and we went on a few dates from time to time and always had a good time with each other. I graduated college that year and moved to Las Vegas while Trina stayed at SUU for another year before moving back home to Salt Lake City. We lost touch with each other and went on with our lives. During the summer of 2009 I came home to Salt Lake to visit my family and some old high school friends. My buddies and I were downtown eating when an old friend from SUU called to ask what we were doing. We agreed we should all meet up at a bar and at the very end of the phone call she mentioned she was with Trina. My whole entire world lit up when she casually told me that Trina was excited I was in town. That night it was as if Trina and I hadn’t skipped a beat and picked up exactly where we left off. A few months later I came back to Salt Lake for the week of Christmas and Trina and I spent every single day together while I was home. We continued talking back and forth while I was in Vegas and we were both secretly falling in love with each other. Over the next year she came to visit me in Las Vegas and I traveled back to Salt Lake a few times to see her. I was traveling a lot for work and she would come stay with me a few times. We spent a week in Denver together and another week in Chicago over Thanksgiving. It started to become too painful when we had to part ways and go back to Vegas and Salt Lake separately. So I up and decided to quit my job and move back home to Salt Lake to be closer to Trina. First thing we did was take a 2 week long road trip up along the West coast into Canada. We spent the next year falling even more ridiculously in love with each other and couldn’t leave each other’s sight. We took a ten day vacation in Italy a year after moving home in the summer of 2012. On our very first night there in Rome I asked Trina to marry me. It took her by complete surprise and she of course said yes with the biggest smile on her face.”
