I simply adore Spencer and Kristen. I had so much fun working with them. Their wedding was beautiful, they were married in the LDS, Salt Lake Temple and held their reception at Wadley Farms. Kristen wrote, “After a horrible blind date one Friday night, I came home and saw some missed calls from a friend. She invited me to play broom hockey at the ice rink. I debated whether or not to go, but I’m so glad I did–as soon as I got on the ice, I immediately noticed a tall, handsome blonde guy on the opposite team. I was struck with his good looks, and, feeling a little more bold than usual, I told myself that I was going to get him to notice me.
Since he was on the opposite team, I made every attempt to guard him that night and get in his face a little bit. I’d throw an elbow, and he’d push back. It was really mature of us! My scheme worked, though, because after the game ended, we were walking away from the rink when he turned around to me and said, “You’re feisty!”
He got my number, and a week later he asked me on our first date. We had lunch outside at Guru’s in Provo, and I can vividly remember sitting across the table from him with this enormous smile on my face. I kept trying to make it go away because I felt so silly, but I couldn’t. Spencer distinctly remembers that while we talked, for a moment, he got caught up in everything and the way the light was hitting my hair and found himself speechless! We ended that perfect date with a ride on my motorcycle (me driving, of course).
The rest is history: we were talking about getting married within two months of our first date. We waited to get married until we’d dated for a year.”
